About SelectHealth (formerly Intermountain Health Care(IHC))
SelectHealth has been offering health plans since 1983. There are currently 22 Utah SelectHealth care hospitals statewide. Over 2,800 physicians are associated with Utah SelectHealth insurance plans.

Each IHC SelectHealth plan also offers three different doctor networks;
- SelectValue (approx. 800 doctors)
- SelectMed (approx. 1,900 doctors)
- SelectCare (approx. 2,800 doctors).
Offering three networks of doctors allows you to adjust your SelectHealth care premium by changing the size of the doctor network available to you and your family.
The most popular IHC SelectHealth care network is SelectMed. The SelectMed network stretches from Ogden to Provo. To find out which networks your doctor is on, please click here or contact us.
SelectHealth insurance also allows you to use hospitals that are exclusive to the Utah SelectHealth health plan, such as; LDS Hospital, Cottonwood Hospital, and Alta View Hospital.
In areas that are served by the Utah SelectHealth health plan, most residents are within a 15 minute drive to the nearest Utah SelectHealth-affiliated physician.
